Mary Bethune Elementary School is a magnet program for visual and performing arts and serves more than 750 students in prekindergarten through grade five. It offers exceptional student education, Title I and after-school care programs. The school provides opportunities to its students and their families to participate in various school-based organizations, including a parent-teacher association, school advisory council, school improvement team, student council, yearbook, safety patrol and innovation zone. It offers performing arts classes in various areas, such as band, computer art, keyboard, dance, stagecraft, 3-D art, strings and theater. The school is a part of Broward County Public Schools, which is one of the largest school districts in the United States accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools..
