Philpott Goat Dairy

I would have to agree with your review on the goat cheese from the Trinidad, CO area. Having grown up there, I must say I cannot find any goat cheese that even comes close. I don't know if it is the old Italian way of making the cheese, or what, but it is absolutely wonderful. I am not crazy about soft goat cheeses from other dairies, just the wheel type cheese from Trinidad/Hoehne area. Whenever I am near there, I stock up! It is only available in the spring through fall months, however, as this is when the goats lactate and have kids.

I my name is Charles Fishel and i had the fortune of trying some Philpott goat cheese with Black peppers at a friends restaurant and deli. It was by far the best goat cheese i ever tried. I recently searched out some other goat cheese producers and King Soopers carries a brand from Niwot, Colorad and sells it for $18 per pound. It would not hold a candle to Philpott goat cheeses. The Jalepeno is just as good as the black pepper.
