Prairie Avenue Antiques

This shop reminds me how fun antiquing can be! First of all it is large enough to be interesting and worth the trip, but not so big as to be rows and rows of the same glassware etc. The best part is although they have ALOT- the stock changes often and it is CLEAN! I find at least a treasure or two on virtually every visit and at prices that make me happy to pay to take them home with me. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. If they don't have what I'm looking for they ususally know where to refer me on to one of the other shops in town- (they are all in easy walking distance). They have multiple dealers so the variety is good not only for my treasure hunting but my spouse can ususally find enough to keep him shopping for some time too. During the warmer months there is a fabulous old fashion custard stand that has the most yummy treats and in the colder months we often try to time our visits to enjoy a delcious stone oven pizza or bowl of soup just up the street at the Bake House. A fun and often fruitful place to visit. Hebron is thankfully one of those quaint little towns stuck in time. It is also just the other side of the border from Lake Geneva...but with alot less traffic.
