Walmart Supercenter

Wal-Mart gets a 3 star, but the Subway in this Wal-Mart is a 0 star disaster. I honestly don't know why I keep going back, expecting it to be better.



ALWAYS swarming with flies. In the coolers, on the employees, on the patrons standing in line. Disgusting. You'd think that obvious problem would be the easiest to address. Easier, I'm sure, than replacing or retraining the zombie like, careless teenagers that work there. They never greet you, barely even acknowledge that you're there, are slow, slow, sloooow, don't seem ashamed or embarrassed by the barrage of flies, and won't even make an effort to keep the flies off your food while you’re standing right there, clearly watching the flies land on the food they're slapping together.



During my last visit to this Subway, in the morning, for a quick breakfast, there were no eggs thawed out in the cooler. The teenage girls, who looked like they couldn't be bothered to even brush their hair before they came to work, brought out a big tub of frozen eggs and popped a few in the microwave. I couldn't decide which was less appetizing: the frozen eggs, the flies, or the slob teenager making the sandwich.



Why did I stand there waiting for an egg to thaw in the microwave, all the while being swarmed by flies? Why did I pay? Why didn't I turn around, buy a box of cereal and go home? Is it crazy to expect that after a year or more, surely an adult would come along and fix this store?



Yuck.



As for the Wal-Mart itself... The produce selection it dismal at best. The shelves are empty by noon on Sunday, and seem to stay that way until, oh I don't know... Saturday night? The only time anything seems to be stocked is Sunday morning around 10 am.



It's always clean! It beats sweaty locker room smelling Rubens - smell and price!
