I rented a minivan from the BWI location on Friday evening and returned it early on Sunday morning and realized Sunday night I had left a credit card and Roy Roger's gift card with over $100 on it in the vehicle but hadn't noticed because it fell under the seat and took all the appropriate steps contacting them and filing a report only to be told Tuesday night they found my credit card and the empty envelope that had my gift card in it. I have filed a complaint with the company because the car has been in their possession since it was returned and so it could have only been one of their employees who took the gift card.

Meka E. And Anthony were extremely helpful and accommodating. This was especially appreciated since it was the day air traffic control lost signal and all flights were canceled at BWI. When I was unable to revive the cat I reserved they both stepped I. To I found something comparable!

My May 15-18, 2015 car rental experience with Alamo at BWI Airport was outstanding! Their new frequent-user system, "Alamo Insiders", offers internet booking with almost all of the bugs out, and their pickup and dropoff personnel and systems were helpful, gracious, and efficient. I have rented cars for business and pleasure hundreds of times for the last 49 years, and this most recent rental was among the best ever. Alamo definitely has their act together.

Overall

The staff were friendly, and helpful. The car was clean inside, and comfortable. I got stuck in traffic on my way there, and arrived shortly before my flight was scheduled to leave. I alerted the staff member that I was in a hurry to get to the airport, and she asked when my flight was leaving. Due to the limited time she told me to get into one of the cars, and said that she would drive me to the airport so that I wouldn't have to wait for the shuttle, and miss my flight.

The two negative comments are that the windshield wipers needed to be replaced, and made driving in the rain very difficult, and when I arrived the self-service kiosks were not working.

I booked my reservation with Alamo BWI through Southwest Airlines.

Alamo BWI did not have car I reserved so customer service agent pointed to a Kia Forte and told me "they were busy" and I was to take "that blue one".

I saw no dents or obvious damage, just minor exterior scuffs scratches and a non-vacuumed red clay carpet interior.

There was no form for me note damages and no employee offered to provide a walk around before rental.

Upon returning the vehicle two days later I was shown several pencil thin scratches on the Kia's front passenger bumper that I was told I would have to pay for.

The rental return agent gave me a scripted speech as he handed me a yellow "Incident Report" slip stating the scratch damage.

I told him that the Forte had NEW YORK license plates with over 23,851 miles on the odometer when I rented it!

The Kia was driven twice during my rental, once to my sister's farm and once back to the airport.

To my surprise Alamo at BWI has many complaints with very same story.

Unfortunately I am a very dissatisfied customer and believe me it takes a great deal to make me upset.

If I was responsible for the scratches I would be the first to admit and offer repair.

Out of curiosity I googled "Alamo Rental Scam" and was astounded to read the many complaints of this facility.

I believe, (as do many others), that this Alamo rental facility repeatedly preys on unsuspecting consumers and operates a very profitable rental return "repair" SCAM!

I can proudly say I only rent car from Alamo since I came to this country 1995. The only time I went to Enterprise was because insurance company sent me there. Beside that I tried AVIS just because now Enterprise owns Alamo and it might mess up Alamo's culture. I like the Alamo culture. You can reserve online and go to the counter at the airport and finish everything on the touch screen computer and pick your car. Once you get used to it, it only takes few minutes to pick up your car and leave. The only concern I have is that now Alamo is owned by Enterprise. The Enterprise people are buggers. For example they try to force you to buy their insurance. I think because they get commission out of it they try to scare the customer. Alamo, they explain it once if you decline, they don't bug you again. Enterprise, it is OK to own Alamo but leave Alamo's way of doing business as it is. Otherwise, my next best choice is AVIS.
