The Village of Haddonfield

Every person in my building had roaches, and since myself and my neighbors are clean it had to just be from the building itself. They were crawling on my baby's toys and in his pack and play, they were in our food, and the office barely showed sympathy at all. No apologies, no compensation. I felt helpless. They finally got the problem fixed after five attempts. Don't even get me started on the camel crickets, they look like hand sized spiders and they jump at you, and when there's 30 sitting on my doorstep I can't even approach the area without getting attacked. We've had to go in through our windows before to avoid getting them in the house and on the baby's things. They only come out in warm dark environments, so at least we can enter our door normally now in the winter. The roaches are gone but when the warm weather comes the sprickets (spider crickets) come out. Mother Nature fixed this one, for now. I'm deathly afraid of bugs but other than that I like it here.

The village of haddonfield, first of all isn't even in haddonfield, it is in Barrington. When my boyfriend and I moved in with our son we were very excited to have our own place. That all changed a few months into our stay. The first thing that went is the plumbing. Our neighbor downstairs complained their plumbing was overflowing every time we gave our son a bath. The maintenance guy showed up with liquid plumber. My boyfriend, who is a plumber informed him that this would not solved the problem and there was something wrong with the pipe. To which the maintenance man laughed and told him he didn't know what he was talking about. My boyfriend informed him he was a plumber and this shouldn't happen every month and the man did his liquid plumber quick fix and left. The next instance was one day when i was on night work, i was laying in bed w/ my son in a T-shirt one morning watching cartoons. I heard a knock at my door, to which I replied "one minute!" so i could throw on a robe. Now I know the maintenance man heard me, the apartments aren't very big and he just used his key and came walking into my apartment. I yelled at him and called the office. They apologized, not suprisingly, they have kept no record of any calls coming into the office so if you have a complaint, you should keep your own. PARKING IS IMPOSSIBLE. They claim in the lease that you can have 2 cars per apartment, however, unless you are home by 6pm you will not get a parking space. The lease states that any car w/out tags or that isn't in working condition will be towed. I called the office on several occassions to complain about having to walk 3 blocks alone at night with my son when there are broken down cars in the parking lot. After calling four or five times I finally got to talk to the property manager. SHe stated that the cars that are broken down have her permission to be there so they can stay and that she never said that there would be parking for two cars. We have now given our notice and are moving on to greener pastures. THIS COMPLEX IS GOOD FOR SINGLE PEOPLE LOOKING TO PARTY AND WHO DO NOT WANT ANY TYPE OF FAMILY ENVIRONMENT. LOUD PARTIES (WHICH I HEARD WERE THROWN BY OWNERS SON) EVERY WEEKEND IN THE SUMMER, TENANTS ARE STILL THERE BECAUSE THEY ARE FAMILY. I HAVE SPOKEN TO MANY OTHER RESIDENTS THAT FEEL THE SAME WAY AND HAVE ALSO GIVEN THEIR NOTICE BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT THE SLUMLORD "BETSY" TO HAVE THEIR RENT ANYMORE. IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO MOVE I SUGGEST YOU THINK TWICE BEFORE MOVING HERE.
