We offer a wide range of health education and services, including lactation support, childbirth classes, family planning, and diabetes and nutrition education. We coordinate services with Husky applicants for other forms of coverage, including housing and the WIC program. After delivery, we also coordinate postpartum and well-baby care for our patients. Our “Healthy Start” approach to your pregnancy focuses on positive birth outcomes for women and their babies, as well as assessments of medical and social needs, care plan development, care coordination, health education, and connections to services in the community.

Dr. Anderson obtained his undergraduate degree at Harvard College and his medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed his residency training in internal medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Cervical Cancer
Breast and cervical cancer are two of the leading, cancer-causing deaths among women. The best way to fight these cancers is to detect and start treating them early. Unfortunately, a lot of women who are uninsured or underserved do not get screenings as often or at all. CHC is part of the Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program, a national program that provides us with the resources to help enroll and screen women who might otherwise not be getting their regular screenings.

To address this, we founded the country’s first formal residency training program for family nurse practitioners in 2007. Since then, we have grown to include tracks for psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, adult gerontology nurse practitioners, and pediatric nurse practitioners.
Psychiatry
Mark Masselli is president, CEO, and founder of Community Health Center, Inc., Connecticut’s largest provider of medical, dental, and behavioral healthcare for the underserved. A Middletown, Conn. native, Masselli founded CHC in 1972 with a group of community activists. CHC currently provides team-based primary care services to more than 150,000 patients at 200 sites across Connecticut and is an innovator in the delivery of primary care to special populations. At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, CHC was called upon by Connecticut’s executive branch to build and operate the state’s largest drive-through mass vaccination sites. Masselli led this historic effort, during which CHC administered more than 500,000 vaccines. In addition, CHC organized hundreds of mobile vaccination clinics, bringing vaccines directly into the most vulnerable communities. Masselli serves as board chair of the National Institute for Medical Assistant Advancement and of the national e-Consult provider ConferMED, is Vice President of the Goodspeed Opera House Board of Trustees, and is Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the national School-based Health Alliance. In 2022, he was appointed to the State of Connecticut's Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Working Group. He was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters by Wesleyan University in 2009 for his work in the healthcare field.
