My 03 Mountaineer started slipping gears on me. Having 200,000 miles on it, I was nervous about putting money into it, however, taking a chance I took it to Ace Transmissions since they offer a NO CHARGE diagnostic. My truck needed a rebuild. What I appreciated about ACE was before doing any of the work, the manager explained in detail the service they would provide and the exact cost and time it would take. They have knowledgeable mechanics that are able to perform diagnostic evaluations for you at no charge. Not only do they fix the problem right the first time, they let you know of other repairs you may need in the future. They really do take the anxiety out going to the shop and having your car repaired. You just drop your car off in the morning and it`s done that evening. I had bad leaks and my transmission started to slip on me. I came to Ace because I have been there before. They had fixed my '99 F-150 rear end and did a beautiful job. This time it was my 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan. I knew they were honest and would do a good job, and they did. I am very satisfied.

I had just purchased a 03 Lesabre, drove it for about two weeks and then the trans started to shift with a bumping actions. I immediately took it over to Ace Transmission knowing that it is not wise to drive on an irregular acting trans, or you may be looking at big bucks to repair it. The manager clearly explained all avenues to take on this matter. I decided to leave the car for a total trans analysis. The outcome was that the trans needed to be overhauled. before any work was to commence, I was given full details of what the problems were and what it would take to complete the repair-I felt I could trust what was being explained to me.The car was back on the road by 5:00pm that day. The manager went through in detail the repairs by showing me the damaged parts, and also went thru the invoicing and 2 year warranty in full detail. I took the vehible back in for a check up within the 10 days allowed for inspection, and all was fine. The vehicle is running very smoothly. I am very pleased with the freindly service provided. Today's customer satisfaction relies a whole lot on trust, and this business falls in this category. I would recommend this to anyone who needs transmission service.

While performing a routine oil change and inspection of my 2000 Buick Park Ave, the mechanic noticed an apparant engine oil leak from the engine intake manifold plenum. The Manager pointed this out to me and explained the possiblility of the plenum cracking resulting in the loss of the engine oil and thereby creating the potential for serious engine damage. As I was about to leave on an extensive road trip, I was advised to have this problem corrected immediately to avoid facing a major mechanical failure on the road. The repair was then made promply and at a fair price.



I chose to have my transmission serviced by Ace Transmissions Plainfield as they had performed this to me in the past and at a reasonable price. I am Especially grateful to Ace for having discovered and corrected a problem that could have caused me considerable delay on my trip as well as a very costly repair! Jerry

My transmission went out 3 or 4 months after my dealer externded warranty ran out.. the dealership wanted almost $2400 bucks to rebuild it. I took it to Ace transmissions on a referral of a friend who had work done and were very happy with the price and service.



I made an appointment for the next day at Ace Transmissions.. (the dealership was 4 days to see me) and by the end of the day I was able to get a price for repair that was alot cheaper than the others and they showed me what was damaged in the transmission. They were polite and professional.

I was very pleased with the service at Ace Transmissions. I had my transmission flushed on my '04 Impala. Johnny Valdez was great to deal with and had me back on the road in less then two hours. I also had my transmission rebuilt on my '01 Grand Prix at Ace Transmissions. I have had no issuses with the transmission since it was rebuilt. I highly recommend Ace Transmissions to anyone.

I had my tranmission rebuilt over 5 years, and 40,000 miles ago. Everything is still running fine.



I am going in for the maintenance service and expect everything to keep running.

I was very angry that after I had my transmission flushed at speedy oil & lube at 925 Leonard st nw GR MI my transmission began to fail.. I was so pissed off at speedy oil change for this and I would not recomend them to my worst enemy. So after these jerks wrecked my transmission I brought my car to Ace for service. I had it inspected and they told me that yes my tranny was going out. My wife and I decided to have the work done to the vehicle. It was not cheap to have the tranny rebuilt but we only have work done by people who are certified when having big ticket repairs done to anything. The repair was done quick and to satisfaction. We did excpect it to be done this way because of the price we payed and it was. The car drives better than ever after the rebuild and shift kit upgrade . If you have a vehicle that needs preventive maintenace done to your tranny I would recomend having the work done at ace transmission or a shop like Ace instead of some want to be mechanics at an instant oil change place.

After getting a few estimates, we went with the best price and referral with Ace Transmission. They were great to work with and got our rebuilt transmission installed timely! Next day we picked it up and were heading up to the UP for vacation......we had issues while driving and called John for help. It ended up not being transimission related, but John made calls and found a local garage where we were at and got us right in to get it looked at. He was helpful, courteous and quick! I would recommend them!!

About two months ago I had a new transmission put in my '91 Dodge Stealth. But, after the installation of the new transmission, my Stealth was stuck in 2nd gear and would not shift at all. For two months I called places trying to find an answer as to why my car would not shift.

I called up Johnny Valdez at Ace Transmissions. He said he could have the car running in two hours. So, I took it there.

After having several weeks of problems with my '95 Saturn I got the advise of a mechanic who said John at Ace Transmission is a "straight shooter". I took my car in & had it checked out & it WAS the transmission. This is the bad news part. Being on a fixed income I really didn't need this - but I need my car so I told them "go ahead & fix it".

To make the story short - the car runs better than I ever remember. It wasn't cheap, but any major car repair these days going to get pricey real quick.

The guys did a great job - 2 weeks so far so good.

I would definitely recommend them & would come back in the future.

Out of town (Illinois) visiting Grand Rapids, Mi. Jan. 28 2010 developed transmission problems - fluid leaking. Not knowing a local Trans. company - I got one reference from the motel staff: They (shop) Couldn't get me in for a week or more - I would be stuck in motel - waiting! Subject: Ace Transmission Repair Service



Called several shops in area for service I'm driving a class A motorhome - and they couldn't fit my RV into a bay (to large). Asked the recommended (by Hotel staff) trans. company for reference about Ace Trans. They knew the owner John Valdez and said they respected his business and work quality. Note: Ace can service large rigs - most shops can't! Ace got me in the same day for inspection (with my approval) and ordered in parts for repair next day! Ace repaired (rebuilt) transmission (called in mechanics to arrive early 6:00 am just to finish this job in one day! Service repair completed late in afternoon - Same day - I was on my way! I was invited to observe and inspect the old parts that were removed from trans. and watched the installation of the rebuilt Trans.



I did! Mr. John Valdez (owner) gave excellent coverage for any possible repairs - if any ever needed on rebuild job.
