Glendale Fire Training Center is responsible for ensuring that all personnel possess the necessary skills, abilities, certifications and licenses to provide the best possible emergency response and firefighting capabilities at all times. The division conducts recruitment of firefighters and manages the Fire Academy for the new recruits to ensure their competence. It also monitors and provides career development for employees through in-service training and administration of promotional exams. Glendale Fire Training Center coordinates training with other agencies as required by automatic and mutual aid agreements. The department establishes and monitors safety practices for emergency and non-emergency personnel. Glendale Fire Training Center is headquartered in Glendale, California.
