Pregnancy is a time of great change in your body. As your uterus grows, your center of gravity changes, affecting your balance and posture. During your pregnancy, your body starts to make hormones that stretch your ligaments to prepare your body for childbirth. In some women, pressure on the pelvis can cause nerve issues that lead to sensations down the legs, known as sciatic pain. Our PTs can help you during and after pregnancy, teaching you ways to modify your breathing and movements in your daily life to relieve some of the pressure on your pelvic floor and throughout your body.

Our clinicians have advanced training in manual therapy and neuromuscular reeducation for the treatment of acute and chronic problems. Manual therapy is the hands-on assessment and treatment of all types of tissue dysfunctions, including joints, muscles, nerves, and soft tissues. The latest research indicates that combined with specific strengthening exercises, manual therapy techniques are more effective for treating musculoskeletal injuries than technologies like ultrasound or electrical stimulation.

Wound Care
Physical therapy (PT) aims to restore impaired function of the legs, back, neck, shoulders, and torso. PT treatments also help with rehabilitation after accidents or surgery, and wound care. Depending on your specific issues, our physical therapists will use different techniques to improve motion, restore function, control or eliminate pain, and prevent disability. In addition to traditional in-clinic visits, we now have the ability to offer telehealth visits by computer or phone for patients who are better suited to perform their physical therapy from home. Most insurance companies are now allowing Telehealth visits and waiving out of pocket expenses (deductibles and copays). Using platforms like Zoom, Google, Skype or Facetime, our physical therapists can perform evaluations as well as daily visits to progress you back to feeling better. Don’t worry if you’re not familiar with these platforms–we’re happy to walk you through the set up and help you with any problems you might have.
