Orange County Pinballs

I called Orange County Pinball July 16, 2021 and spoke with Evan (the owner). I confirmed his website price of, $7699. He had one Jurassic Park Premium ordered from Stern for this December 2021 shipment. He stated the machine was still available and could be secured with a $1000 PayPal deposit. I made the required deposit immediately after ending our call.

On Friday, 10-8-21, I sent an email to Evan asking for a status update and when he was expecting the remaining balance of $6699. He replied on 10-10-21 to my email with disappointing news. Specifically, he not only wasn’t getting the machine in December as promised, but I now had to pay his new online pricing of $9,399 for the same machine I ordered in July 2021!

I called Evan immediately and asked about the huge price markup. He said, “My order was pushed back to 2022 shipment and Stern Pinballs pricing is going up as of the 1st of the year.” However, I suspect he sold it at a higher price with this pinball being in such high demand. Not only was Evan unsympathetic to the situation of expecting this as a family Christmas gift, but I would now have to pay this unreasonable increase of $1700 more for the same pinball I placed my order this past July.

The phone call did not go well and nothing was offered on Orange County Pinball’s end to rectify this totally unexpected situation. It would have been reasonable for Evan to say, “Hey, I know this isn’t my company’s norm and Stern put us in a bad situation. However, I am willing to accept a lower profit on the delayed unit and keep you as a long term future customer.” NOPE, no such thing, just him replying, “I will cancel your order and credit you back your deposit.” Last words on the call were me informing him that this is shady business and makes him look like a bad owner. He hung up on me and immediately refunded the $1000 deposit I made three months prior. Evan, you did not live up to your FAKE five star reviews. Buyers Beware!
