I called Noah's Ark after my tortoise had fallen in a pool and was in a critical state. They said I could take him in for urgent care. The staff handled him roughly, picking up the back of his shell, so that his face was dragging on the table he was on, and the vet couldn't answer if he was alive or dead. I asked her 4 times before she gave me a hesitant "yes." She even asked me if he was a male or female. Shouldn't a vet already know that answer? They then gave my tortoise an IV (the vet couldn't give me a straight answer of what the IV consisted of) and a shot of antibiotics to treat possible oncoming pneumonia. The visit took 2 hours, much of which was spent waiting for them to treat him. After I took him home, I started to suspect that he was dead since he was puffy in the area in which he was given the IV. After calling Dr. Starr to ask what to do, she said to take him to a critical care animal hospital. Since I initially told the staff that he was in a critical state and they told me to take him in, I assumed that Noah's Ark was a critical care hospital. I guess not.

After I took him to a different critical care vet, that vet told me that the puffiness was a 99.9% indication that he had passed away and then immediately checked for my tortoise's heartbeat with a stethoscope and then an ultrasound, which confirmed that he did pass. When I contacted Noah's Ark for a refund on the visit since they either knowingly "treated" a dead pet because they're money-focused and sold me unneeded antibiotics, or had no clue how to provide a professional service and simply tell whether or not he was alive by checking for a heartbeat, I was given two incredibly rude and vindictive responses by the staff. I was also denied a simple refund.

If you love your pet, whether it's a tortoise, dog, cat, bird, or anything else, please don't chance his/her well-being with the staff at Noah's Ark. I will forever regret my decision to trust them.

I took my cat to Dr. Starr a year and a half ago to remove a broken canine. Not only did she remove the broken tooth, but she removed the other perfectly healthy upper canine. She did all this without ever taking a single x-ray. I have worked in the health care field for over 30 years. No GOOD doctor ever works on a patient without seeing a film first! If that wasn't awful enough, two days after I brought her home from Noah's Ark hospital, she started sneezing and her left eye became weepy. She has been chronically sick ever since; about a year and a half. My current vet, a wonderful man, Dr. Tyler did take an x-ray of her skull. Unfortunately, the chronic disease that my cat was exposed to has made her sick beyond repair. The only choice I have now is to watch her suffer or put her to sleep. She will die an early death come this Tuesday. Dr. Starr made her last year and a half miserable and I will have to do without her company when I should have been able to enjoy her for many more years. If you love your pet, take them ANYWHERE but here
