Board certified in all three specialties - internal medicine, pulmonary medicine and critical care - Dr. Agcaoili moved to Fremont in 1991 and began her long association with Washington Hospital. The Liver Transplant Clinic in Fremont is staffed by Bilal Hameed, MD, board-certified gastroenterologist and transplant hepatologist. Dr. Hameed is an assistant clinical professor of medicine at UCSF. He completed his residency in medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Minnesota and his transplant hepatology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. After completing his fellowship in 2010, he was invited to join the faculty at UCSF and has already established himself as one of UCSF’s top transplant hepatologists clinically, academically and professionally. Treatment typically includes the correction of biomechanical deficits through detailed and focused physical therapy, possible short courses of pain medications, and various types of injection procedures. He performs traditional injections that historically have involved steroids to help with inflammation, and also has an interest in more novel growth factor injections that use the body’s own growth factors to help heal various injuries. In addition, Dr. Goldin is trained in electrodiagnostics and musculoskeletal ultrasound. He can use these when appropriate in order to make a diagnosis and determine appropriate treatment.
MRI
Generally, patients with neurological problems such as concussions, headaches, or numbness are good candidates for a neurologist’s care. Other symptoms you may notice include memory problems, muscle weakness, tremors, or difficulty communicating. These symptoms may indicate a brain or nervous system problem, which your neurologist can diagnose through a several evaluations. Your physician will examine your sensory function, balance, coordination, gait, eye control, language comprehension, and other neurological skills. These noninvasive, painless tests help your doctor determine whether follow-up diagnostic testing is needed, such as a CT or MRI scan.

Each year since 2012, Washington Hospital has been designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR). By awarding facilities the status of a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, the ACR recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy and breast ultrasound (including ultrasound-guided breast biopsy).
Computed Tomography
The Outpatient Imaging Center is home to a 64-slice computed tomography (CT) scanner. This equipment creates 64 high-resolution anatomical images per rotation. This decreases scan times to several seconds which allows almost all patients to be scanned in high resolution. The slices are as thin as a credit card and support advanced cardiac studies, among other applications. These images are combined to form a three-dimensional view of the patient's anatomy, allowing physicians to view such things as blockages in the coronary arteries, as well as the motion and pumping action of a patient's heart.

Varian linear accelerator delivering multi-energy photon and electron therapy. The accelerator is equipped with a 120-leaf multi-leaf collimator with the capability of 3D conformal radiation therapy, intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT).

IR refers to a range of techniques which rely on the use of radiological image guidance (X-ray fluoroscopy, ultrasound, computed tomography [CT] or magnetic resonance imaging [MRI]) to precisely target therapy. Most IR treatments are minimally invasive alternatives to open or laparoscopic surgery. Many conditions that once required surgery can be treated less invasively with IR procedures.
