The American College of Radiology (ACR), headquartered in Reston, Virginia is responsible for the accreditation of facilities for achievements of high practice standards. The awards are offered based on the results of a peer-review evaluation of the practice conducted by expert medical physicists and board certified physicians. Not only does the practice undergo a thorough evaluation of the professional credentials of the technologists, radiologists and medical physicists, all equipment is assessed for image quality.

Our Pre-Certification Coordinator performs all duties related to obtaining authorizations for surgery and advanced imaging and schedules all MRI and CT scans as ordered for Nashville Hip Institute at TOA patients. Hand Surgery
As a surgeon during World War II, Dr. Ben Fowler was asked to perform hand surgery on injured soldiers. They were provided specialized surgery centers, which became the birthplace of hand surgery. Dr. Fowler, in turn, became a founding member of TOA. While he no longer practices, Dr. Fowler’s influence in the development of hand surgery is significant, and his legacy continues to positively impact our physicians and patients in Tennessee.
