Dr. Russell is a master at disarming and portraying himself as a gentle and soft spoken way that may daughter, who is normally extremely reserved, especially around unacquainted men. Ava grew fond of Dr. Russell from the very first visit. Although we since have moved 40 miles away, Ava insisted that she only trusted "My Dentist" and she would lose all her teeth before she went to a scary dentist. Short waiting times are to be expected and activities are available such as books for children to read. The only complaint that I have, is that I am too old to be able to have him as my dentist. High recommended for those who seek a genuinely honest and caring dentist reminiscent of a hometown dentist in a small rural town

I have been taking my oldest daughter to see Dr. Russell for 2 years now, and I really like him. We live in pensacola and drive out to Fort Walton to have the kids seen. My oldest was really scared at first but with time came comfortable with him and his nurse. So I had high hopes of getting my youngest in to see him, but was not able to right away. So I called around pensacola to find one to take our insurance and her age (not always easy) So after having a bad experience with a local dentist in pensacola (the dentist told me "even if there was something wrong there is nothing I can do about it". Just because she was upset.) I called Dr Russell's office and was then able to be put on the waiting list. My youngest was difficult. I know that, but Dr. Russell kept his composure and talked really sweet to her. He was sure to pat me on the back to be sure that I wasn't to upset then said "its OK mom she just made a little noise". He was able to look at her mouth and clean her teeth. Yes she had to be held down but that was in her best interest so as her mother I knew I had to do what was best. She was not hurt and even smiled at Dr. Russell before we left.
