The Clebourne House

The house itself is nice and the woman in charge assured my team that we wouldn't have to decorate too much and it wouldn't take long for tear down at the end which was true, however the house was not prepared for us when we came. The place was clear except the tables that were set up but what I mean is the place hadn't been swept, especially the outside patio which is a disaster for a white dress and dancing. During tear down, WE were forced to sweep everything, not the Clebourne people, which I wouldn't have minded sweeping as long as they had already done it before we came. Lastly, when we came to view the place the first time, the woman had multiple groups scheduled for viewing at the same time so we just walked through on our own while she walked an other group through. And she had an other wedding rehearsal scheduled the day my event was happening so she asked us to set up our stuff and leave for a few hours and come back when our event would actually start. Unprofessional.

I recommend The Clebourne House as the perfect place for your perfect day. My husband and I had a small wedding there on May 15, 2015 and it was wonderful. People have high hopes for their wedding day and I can honestly say it was better than I could have even imagined it to be. Candace runs the show for you, and I suggest trusting her and letting her do so. She took care of everything for us and was so helpful. Anytime I had a question, she was ALWAYS willing to help me with a quick response. She had recommendations for anyone that we may need, which I took into consideration and I am so glad that I did! The only one I didn't use was the florist, only because their website made them seem really expensive. Everyone else she recommended, I used. The cake was done by Lorie Collins and it was perfect and delicious. The photographer and DJ, Tammy and Quinn, are a married couple that makes a great team. Tammy was fantastic and Quinn was so wonderful. I couldn't have asked for better from either one. Candace's son was our bartender and he did a fantastic job as well! Candace and everyone working with her, went out of their way to make everyone feel special, welcomed and at home. We all had such a wonderful time and all of our guests did as well. The food was also fantastic. We had prime rib, salmon, roasted potatoes and green beans. It was all phenomenal! I felt bad for bugging Candace with all of my small questions, especially with such a little wedding, and she replied with, "big or small, they all matter". I thought that was so nice of her. I have no complaints so if anyone is looking for a great place to get married and to have your reception, this is your perfect place you have been looking for!!!

After being given the “salesperson smile,” we found that as we got closer to our wedding day the director/owner of the Clebourne house, Candace, became increasingly more difficult to work with. As you can find in other reviews, if you choose to go with people (officiants, caterers, photographers etc) outside of Candace's suggestions, the helpfulness that she is willing to give will decrease quickly.



She was incredibly rude to our guests, as well. Many guests mentioned how pushy, loud, and rude she was when dealing with our ceremony and reception. She was unorganized and unprofessional both during our year of planning and especially during our wedding day.



Further, Candace requires anyone who books with her to also use her catering. Our food tasted terrible, our buffet was tiny, and she tore it down before all of our guests were finished eating. Not only that, but she promised us hot roast beef and gave us cold-cut roast beef from a deli counter. When we mentioned to her that we had wanted hot roast beef, she denied ever having that conversation with us.



All-in-all, Candace is extremely difficult to work with. She didn't respect us or our ideas/vision for our wedding, and she made the whole planning process more stressful than necessary. My husband and I don't have fond memories of our wedding day because of all of the things that Candace did to make us feel unwelcome, unwanted, and unappreciated on our special day. When we tried to speak to her about these grievances, she wouldn't discuss any of the real issues we addressed. She wouldn't even return our emails after she sent a first response email that basically said, "too bad". Bottom line, Candace wants your money, and once she has it, you're not important to her anymore.



Though The Clebourne House seems like a good deal, it really isn't. Our advice is to book somewhere else.
