The nitch market of this business is finding buyers to absorb the unwanted contents of an estate and make the home ready for sale. (i.e. selling the contents, donating unsold items, hauling as necessary, and cleaning/staging, etc.--see their website for description) I was trying to liquidate my mother's estate and had a very limited window of opportunity to empty her home of the contents and put the house on the market. Her home was in Florida, and I was coming from California to take care this task. I only had a week. I set this up with Liz (owner) in advance. She had a staff member go to the home to photograph the contents to get an idea of its worth and "sale-ability". While I will say that Ms. Owens was always very professional in tone and seemingly knowledgeable, she failed miserably to deliver her product: SERVICE. She waited until ONE day before I was to get on a plane to Florida to call me and tell me that she didn't think that the decorator contents of a fully furnished 3 bdrm/2 bath home was worth more than $400-$500, and that she didn't feel it was worth her while or mine to perform the sale that weekend. I had already purchased airline tickets, pre-paid a car rental, and my wife took vacation time to be with our children while I was gone. She left me dead in the water with no option at such a late date. Almost everything in the home was like-new, as my mother became an invalid shortly after moving into her home. Therefore much of the furniture was never ever used. Perhaps Ms. Owens felt that her profit margin was not going to be large enough, or she got a more lucrative offer for the same weekend. Whatever the case may be, she talked a good talk, but walked a very unprofessional walk. Fortunately, I was able to get a very reputable estate auction company to help me out on a minute's notice and the house was cleared. BTW, the first item that sold was her dining room table. Selling price: $400! ...and that was just the beginning of the sale. Perhaps Transitions Management Estate Svces has performed many other successful estate sales, but Ms. Owens' poor judgment and frankly, lack of common consideration, lost her my business. There is NO way I could ever recommend her. Steer clear of this one.
