The Northern Kentucky Area Development District is a regional organization that assists in the formulation and implementation of human resource and infrastructure-related plans. In addition to regional planning, the district provides technical and management assistance to local communities. It operates long-term care unit and workforce development departments. The Northern Kentucky Area Development District also includes developmental, public administration, and health and human services departments. The district, founded in 1971, offers business, disaster recovery, mapping and human resources management assistance. It provides family caregiver support and child care subsidy programs. The Northern Kentucky Area Development District additionally offers adult, dislocated worker and youth services. The organization s senior citizen program develops and coordinates support services for the aged.
