An internal examination of the colon is recommended for everyone over 50 years old to properly screen for colon cancer. Some people with chronic or recurrent bowel problems or a family history of bowel problems should have their first exam at an earlier age. Follow-up exams are scheduled in 1 to 5 years depending on the findings of the first exam.

Joseph Albanese, PA-C graduated with a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Drexel University in Philadelphia. He completed his undergraduate training at The Pennsylvania State University as a double major in Psychology and Film. Before PA school he worked in mental health with 5 years’ experience in inpatient behavioral health. Joe is seeing patients in our Clinton and Flemington offices. In his personal life he enjoys sports, nature and travel.

Vasectomy
A no-scalpel vasectomy provides permanent sterilization for men who intend to have no more children. This procedure differs from the old style vasectomy in that there is no incision made. Only a small puncture is required. The result is less risk of bleeding, trauma, and pain than old style vasectomies. Additionally, the recovery time is much faster.
