Island Pediatrics

Horrific experience!! 14 yrs with this practice one bill sent to collection...no letter no phone...discharged from practice. I have had 3 kids there, my youngest since birth. Found this out when I called to make an appt. I am in the healthcare field...thank GOD it wasnt urgent...I have an asthmatic!! Very disappointed, sad, and frustrated for the ones I see have been where I am and the future patients. This is NOT an ethical practice and I emplore you to call other pediatricians and ask about their policies as I did today. IP is the only one...

My family went through a hard time financially and we were behind on ONE bill ($60). It was sent to collections and I was finally able to get the money to pay it off ... only to find out that my daughter is no longer allowed to come there because of this. They are denying my child healthcare because I couldn't afford to pay my bills. AVOID THIS PLACE!

Office is clean and well decorated and wait times Are reasonable however Dr. Fordam is no good. This doc does more talking than listening, even when there is an issue, she will literally talk right over you. She treats parents like they do not know what they are talking about and she doesnt not have a good bedside manner with young children. She also seems to prefer you leave all other children at home as she suggested I leave my toddler with grandparents next time (too bad we had just relocated from out of state and had no one) She did not ask questions about my newborn that previous doc asked about my other children reguarding feedings and stools and just has an overall prickly personality. It seems by reading other reviews she fits right in as it seems others have similar complaints about Dr. Hall. Loved the office, def did not care for doc

In a time when you only seem to hear the negatives I have only positives for this office. I have been taking my two sons to this office since they were born, they are now 8 and 6. I have seen all of the doctors and they are all VERY nice and patient with my kids. Once my son was sick on a Saturday and Dr. Garrett met us after hours to take care of him. They always return my calls and I feel my kids get very good care from the doctors and nursing staff.

I agree that the office is clean and that the rooms are decorated nice. The front office staff could not be nicer and the staff Doctors, Dr. Bonnie White (love her), Dr. Garrett is great. However, the owner Dr. Hall, I am not sure why she became a pediatrician, she is put offish, looks down her nose at patients on Medipass (so not sure why she excepts it), is not very hands on, and rude. Unfortunately, if you have to take your child there on an emergency appointment you are stuck with Dr. Hall who always seems to be open (big surprise).
