St Mary School

When I first moved here 3 yrs ago, I was so excited looking forward to registering at St Mary's as a new parishioner and my daughter in religious ed. Sorry to say it has been very disappointing for me. Registering my daughter was not fun... there was a whole lot of confusion because of the fact that she missed a year of it at our old parish. I wanted to bring her up to par with the other students so she wouldn't feel out of place (home courses maybe) but they just made everything so complicated (Not this year but next year -they told us) Next year came and again a whole big mix up (Could not find my registration records, and had nothing on file, plus could not tell me anything about getting my daughter on track with the proper class she should be in so 3 yrs later she is still not caught up) They are never in the office and when you call and leave a message, no one ever gets back to you. Since day one I had wanted to volunteer for something but they just did not seem to want my services. I would really hate to think this had anything to do with my race/ethnicity (Hispanic) but you know what ?... I have come to realize that it may have very well played a part in this scenario because not only did I feel it at the religious ed dept but to have felt it right in the church specifically with one of the priests there whom at first I thought the world of but after having approached him with a simple question one day after mass... his response was one of "I really can't be bothered right now" just blew me away. Yes, I do look Hispanic... Maybe if I would have looked Caucasian it would have been a different story. I now have lost interest in participating in any church activities and am in the process of relocating. I pray the Lord understands and forgives me if I am wrong.
