I just moved in and wish I had...

I just moved in and wish I had not. I was new to Washington and stressed to the guy on the phone that the apartment was over $100.00 more than what I wanted to spend which was $945.00 a month. I asked him on average how much the utilities were so I could figure if we could afford this unit. his answer was "for the two bedroom utilities run about $60.00." I told him ok if that's it plus the rent I think we can do it so I sent my boyfriend and his brother down to look at it. they liked what they saw so we decided to move forward with the move. upon signing the lease I was informed that the complex does not pay water, sewage or trash but was told "don't worry its only about $15.00." so now im thinking ok $945 plus $60 plus another $15. they keep adding up. then I was told they added another $10 for renters insurance. all these extra fees I was not told about. I should have been told over the phone but was manipulated and taken advantage of instead. since the extra fees were so small I figured ok we can still do it. we signed the lease 12/14/13. on 1/1/14 I told the office I did not get my utility bill in the mail. she said "you don't pay for December, you pay for Jan so you'll get a bill in Feb" when I got my utility bill in the mail I got 2. one from the office for water, sewer and trash in the amount of $51.87 (a huge difference from $15.00) and the second was for electric from PSE in the amount of $350.00 (a huge difference from $60.00). I could not believe it. when I went to the office and informed the office manager of my conversation with the other employee she told me "he does not have the ability to be manipulated". she said "since we signed the lease she legally does not have to do anything". so far the only thing I got was the $400.00 pet deposit waived and the monthly pet rent of $15.00 waived. sure this helps us now but what about that extra electric bill of $170.00ish I have to pay each month for the next year. I would never allow my friends or family to rent here. this place is manipulative, dishonest and displays extreme unethical selling practices which you should never deal with when choosing your home. how dare them put a family in this situation just to get a rental. by the way, that guy who intentionally withheld information and misled me was promoted within the company. no wonder he was so desperate to rent this apartment, it must look better on his resume! how sad!

SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE

THESE APARTMENTS ARE OVER PRICED FOR WHAT YOU GET AND THE SERVICE IS HORRIBLE.. THE WALLS ARE PAPER THIN THE CLOSET DOORS ARE ALWAYS BREAKING. THERE ARE SPIDERS EVERYWHERE AND THEY REFUSE TO GET PEST CONTROL. THE OFFICE PEOPLE ARE VERY RUDE IF YOU EVER CONFRONT THEM WITH A PROBLEM. OH AND LET ME SAY THEY ONLY HAVE ABOUT TWO MATIENCE MEN ON STAFF AND THEY DO NOT FIX THINGS IN A TIMELY MANNER, MOST TIMES THEY DON'T EVEN FIX THINGS CORRECT. YOU ARE BETTER OFF LOOKING FOR A HOME THEN PAYING THIS PRICE FOR AND APARTMENT. THEY TRY AND CHARGE YOU OVERAGES EVEN AFTER YOU HAVE SPOKEN TO AN OFFICE MEMBER. THEY CHANGED MY PRICE IN RENT AND FORGOT ABOUT AND TRIED TO CHARGE ME LATE FEES TOTALING 400.00 AND WHEN I SPOKE TO SOMEONE ABOUT IT SHE GOT MAD AT ME AND ASKED ME WHY I DIDN'T FIX. FRIST OFF I DID NOT KNOW THEY FORGOT TO DOCUMENT THE CHANGES and second I DONT WORK FOR THERE OFFICE. THEY ARE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND TAKE NO ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THERE MISTAKES. UPON LEAVING THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME FOR A DOOR THE MATIENCE PERSONAL BROKE WHICH WAS DOCUMENTED BY ME AND THE WORKER WHEN IT HAPPENED. THEY ALWAYS TRY AND ADD LITTLE THINGS IN SO PLEASE WATCH OUT IF YOU PLAN ON LIVING THERE. THERE POOL SUCKS AND ALL SUMMER THEY NEVER CLEANED IT AND I REFUSED TO TAKE MY CHILDREN THERE. THERE FITNESS CENTER IS VERY SMALL AND OUTDATED AS WELL. PLEASE LET THESE APARTMENTS BE YOUR LAST RESORT..

Don't live here!

I lived there for a year and will never go back!! The management company has changed 3 times, the maintenance workers tried to get into my apt several times without notice and for no reason. The walls are thin so plan on getting to know your neighbors. If you live on the groud floor, plan on keeping your windows closed or the sprinklers will spray into them and no they won't move or change them to stop spraying water into your windows. After moving out, they sent me a collection notice 11 days after moving out saying it was an outstanding balance. What the heck is the deposit for then?! With a deposit of $300, which they kept, they want an additional 350.08 for random cleaning charges. This is suspicious especially just a week before the manager commented on how clean we left the apartment. There are plenty of apt complexes around this area, for your own sake, look some where else!!!
