Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen

This Popeye's gets high marks in every aspect except for the owner. My wife and I ate at this location 8\26, our very first Popeye's yesterday. The restaurant , restrooms & kitchen area were clean.
The cashier would say every so often, that if you are here for the chicken sandwich we will not have them until next Monday. Ok, np, i decided to get chicken strips instead. We walked in at about 11 am there were 2-3 people in front of us & one cashier who was taking orders, the money and filling the orders. It took us about 10-12 minutes to get to order. Once we paid my wife went to wash her hands as I waited on the order and noticed a man in regular street clothes walk in the side door, to the service\kitchen area. The gentleman walked & messed around in the kitchen a bit ,meanwhile the line behind us kept getting longer.
Once we placed our order the cashier filled it very quickly.
I did not get to try the spicy chicken strips and received a 3 pc chicken combo, I think the mix up was partly my fault and I could have went back and switched it out I'm sure but we felt sorry for the cashier, as she was still covered up, & I figured it would take too long to exchange it, so I kept it.
As far as the food items we had they were ALL very fresh for sure. The chicken was crispy and had good flavor, the french fries are the BEST I have ever had at ANY restaurant. The fries have a crunchy outside texture and are soft inside. My wife said look at all the cars backing up in the drive-thru, which went all the way to the street(Skibo). I saw the gentleman that entered the kitchen earlier meander about the dining area a few minutes then walk out the door and get in his vehicle and leave. The owner should have jumped in to assist in serving the customer back log. It seemed like the owner was trying to run the restaurant on the cheap & was unwilling to help his crew alleviate the log jam. We saw cars & dine-ins leave, but we don't blame the staff, they were doing all they could.
