Dental Examination
Depending on your specific needs there are some times when we are not able to complete the cleaning but we do strive to provide enough time to do so. You will also meet one of our doctors to complete your dental exam. They will review your records and the findings from the hygienist to determine if any treatment is needed.

These things are sometimes used in conjunction with other prescribed products when needed.

Resin Composite
Dental amalgam, or silver filling material, is a mixture of mercury, and an alloy of silver, tin and copper. The release of mercury in silver fillings is so small that it is much less than what patients are exposed to in food, air and water. There are, however, other materials that can be used for restorations. These include gold, porcelain, and composite resins. Fluoride is a compound of the element fluorine, which is found universally throughout nature in water, soil, air and in most foods. Fluoride is absorbed easily into the tooth enamel, especially in children's growing teeth. Once teeth are developed, fluoride makes the entire tooth structure more resistant to decay and promotes remineralization, which aids in repairing early decay before the damage is visible. Radiographs, or x-rays, help your dentist determine the presence or degree of periodontal disease, abscesses, and many abnormal growths such as cysts and tumors. They can help pinpoint the location of cavities and other signs of disease that may not be possible to detect through a visual examination. All health care providers are sensitive to patients' concerns about exposure to radiation. Your dentist has been trained to prescribe radiographs when they are appropriate and to tailor the radiograph schedule to your individual needs. By using state-of-the-art technology, such as digital radiography, and by staying knowledgeable about recent advances, your dentist knows which techniques, procedures and X-ray films can minimize your exposure to radiation.
Veneers
Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin shells of ceramic material which are bonded to the front of the teeth. This procedure can be an ideal choice for improving the appearance of the front teeth by masking discolorations, whitening teeth and/or reshaping a smile.
Crowns
A bridge will be prescribed when one or more teeth are missing. Bridges use the adjacent teeth as attachments for the floating teeth that replace the open space. Bridges are an optimal choice when the teeth adjacent to the space could benefit from a crown. Patients who can not undergo surgery for an implant due to health or preference find bridges to be a great option.

Root Canal Treatment
A crown will be prescribed when a tooth is badly decayed, broken or fractured. A crown is often needed when a tooth has been treated with a root canal. Crowns ensure that biting forces are evenly distributed around to prevent further fracture of the tooth. Your new crown can be made from gold, porcelain fused to high noble metal or high-strength ceramic material. A specific material may be recommended for your specific needs to offer long lasting results.

Dentures
Full dentures replace an entire arch of missing teeth and rely on remaining bone and soft tissue for retention. Partial dentures are used when some upper or lower teeth remain and these remaining teeth are used for retention. We encourage regular checkups to maintain oral health and the fit of your appliance.

Dental Implants
Dental implants are substitutes for natural tooth roots and rely on the jawbone for support. Strategically placed, implants can now be used to support permanently cemented bridges, eliminating the need for a denture.
