Spousal Support
A dissolution of marriage may be obtained by filing a petition (or complaint) for dissolution of marriage and a separation agreement with the court. The separation agreement must provide for a division of all property, spousal support, and, if there are minor children of the marriage, the allocation of parental rights and responsibilities for the care of the children.
Legal Separation
Divorce means the legal separation of husband and wife brought about by a judgment or a decree (order) of a court that terminates the marital relationship. Ohio essentially is a “no fault” divorce state, meaning it is not necessary to prove the fault of the other spouse in order to obtain a divorce.
Annulment
Annulment means that because of some disability or defect existing at the time of the marriage ceremony, no valid marriage ever took place or no valid marital relationship ever existed between the parties. A lawsuit seeking an annulment is different from a lawsuit seeking a divorce in that no rights generally accrue to the parties to an annulment lawsuit.
First, discuss your lawyer’s approach to handling your case. No reputable attorney will guarantee results; however, he/she should tell you in a few, direct words how they will protect your rights. Our Columbus/Canal Winchester/Pickerington/Carroll/Lancaster Ohio criminal defense lawyers put you, the client, first. We work for you, not the government.
DUI/DWI
The acronyms DUI, DWI, OMVI and OVI all refer to the same thing: operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

"My son had a traffic ticket that we wanted help with. A friend of ours referred us to Weaver Law because they had helped him with a similar traffic violation. So he gave me their card and I reached out to them. Dustin Weaver was the attorney who helped my son with this ticket and actually got it entirely dismissed! We didn’t even have to go before a judge!! All I was hoping for was to avoid an increase in insurance costs, but now it’s like it never even happened and my sons driving record remains clean! Weaver Law clearly knows what they are doing and they handled my sons case on short notice and delivered above and beyond! I would recommend Weaver Law and their Attorneys and staff to anyone in need of legal services."

Either give the outline to your children or tell them where it can be found. It is as equally important to keep your estate planning documents updated. Even if you do not want to share the details of your will with your children, they should know that it exists, where it is located, and that it is up to date. If you have executed a living will, which is an expression of your wishes concerning life support and treatment in the event of a terminal illness, it is very important that copies be provided to all family members who would be involved in your care.

Trusts
We can help plan your estate so that upon your death your estate goes to your loved ones in the fastest and least costly manner; prepare living trusts to avoid probate; draft and update wills, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives. We also assist in probating estates.
Power of Attorney
A power of attorney is a document in which you grant certain authority to another person (referred to as an “agent”) to act on your behalf. A POA can be very specific – for example, you may want your father to sell your old college auto sitting around the garage, and you would draft a POA for that specific purpose. Once the car was sold, the POA would no longer have any authority. However, most people are more familiar with a general POA which grants a person broad authority to handle a multitude of legal or financial decision-making chores in your stead.
Chapter 7 bankruptcy is known as liquidation, or “fresh start” bankruptcy. In a Chapter 7 case, a trustee (assigned by the U.S. Trustee’s Office or chosen by the debtor’s creditors) may liquidate, or sell, the debtor’s non-exempt assets to pay all or a portion of the debts owed to creditors. As a practical matter, you, as a debtor, typically can protect all of your assets by using state or federal exemptions. Many Chapter 7 trustees find that more than 80 percent of their cases are resolved as “no asset” cases, meaning that all assets are exempt or encumbered with liens.

We provide Chapter 7/13 Bankruptcy counseling and filing. We also provide foreclosure assistance, stop wage garnishments and put an end to harassing collection calls.
