I had a deal with Martin H. Robinett through his management/development company that said; I would release my easement so he could build houses, and he would blend my property in with the new neighborhood he had planned. He was to plant trees and grass in predefined areas to provide a buffer and mitigate some of the substantial loss of native vegetation resulting from his development.



Trees were planted and some grass seed was thrown out. However the fill dirt used was of very poor quality, the numbskulls he employed used virtually no topsoil, and they did not follow standard procedures for planting. As a result, after less than 6 months, two of the larger trees have died, and the rest are in various stages of failing. The so-called “grass” that was planted is thin, full of thistles and looks terrible. I have since had “real” landscapers address the problems and suggest repairs totaling thousands of dollars. Basically, dressing with topsoil, seeding and re-planting the trees properly.



Martin (Marty) Robinett’s amateurish and failed results stand in stark contrast to the new houses next door and across the street that have been professionally landscaped. With 6” to 12” of topsoil, sod and professionally planted trees, those plants and trees are thriving. Obviously, professionals were employed for those jobs and it was not done by Marty’s little band of misfit miscreants.



I will avoid any future dealings with Marty H. Robinett. He’s all smiles and promises when he wants something, then, “talk to my lawyer” when you are not happy with his amateurish and obviously substandard results.



“Snake in the grass” is about the most appropriate description I can think of for Mr. Robinett. Beware.
