General Info
I earned my Juris Doctor (Law degree) in 2002 from the University of South Carolina School of Law, spending the last year at the University of Georgia, and my Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 1999 from The Johns Hopkins University, recently ranked as the #10 university in the U.S. News & World Report's annual ranking and #17 in the World University Rankings . I was a state prosecutor for more than ten years in Augusta, Georgia and Nashville, Tennessee. Additionally, in private practice, I have both represented and fought against some of the largest consumer goods corporations, trucking manufacturers, municipalities and shipping companies in the world. As a criminal prosecutor, I handled several large-scale significant cases including prosecuting members of one of the most powerful and violent criminal drug syndicates in Mexico, transnational central American criminal gangs, and was responsible for the largest methamphetamine manufacturing conspiracy prosecution in Tennessee history. I was entrusted to prosecute some of the largest criminal cases in recent history in the Augusta area. I have handled over 3000 criminal cases including several murders, large financial fraud cases down to narcotics possession and DUI cases. I am licensed to practice in every state court in Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee. I am admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Georgia, Georgia Court of Appeals, United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia, Middle District of Georgia, Northern District of Georgia, Middle District of Tennessee, Eastern District of Tennessee and District of South Carolina. In addition, I am admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth (WV, VA, NC and SC), Ninth (AZ, CA, NV, ID, OR, WA, MT, AK, HI) and Eleventh (FL, GA, AL) Circuits. I was admitted to the United States Supreme Court having been sponsored by noted attorney Bobby Lee Cook, the inspiration for Matlock. I am a member of the Augusta Bar Association. I am an experienced trial attorney and have handled thousands of cases, scores of jury trials and hundreds of hearings across the southeast. By staying focused on our core mission and areas of practice outlined below the firm is able to effectively represent the best interests of clients. If you need assistance with an area of law not generally within my practice areas (such as divorce, child custody, wills, bankruptcy, immigration, and the like), please still do consider contacting us. If we cannot help you, we will help direct you to someone who can on any legal issue.

Overall

Finding the right attorney to help with legal matters can be a difficult process, and the abundance of attorney websites really don’t make the process easier.

You need an attorney that not only knows the law, but one that will listen to you, respect you, and communicate with you openly and honestly—that is what I found when I spoke with Mr. Homlar.

I recommend you give him a call, you’ll be pleased.
