Medical Malpractice
Continuing an active practice as “of counsel” with the firm, Humboldt County native Nancy Delaney has worked for more than forty years with the current firm and its predecessors. Her focus has been civil litigation—primarily medical malpractice and public entity defense, including federal civil rights defense. She has acted as lead trial counsel for dozens of cases tried in federal and state courts. She continues in good standing with the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) after being elected by her professional peers to the prestigious San Francisco Chapter more than two decades ago.

In the early 1970s, James Henderson, the Firm's last direct link to Nelson & Ricks, passed away and the Firm was renamed to Mitchell, Dedekam & Angell. Along with their success in the courtroom, the insurance defense, commercial litigation and business practices flourished. This success prompted the continuing growth of the Firm's probate and estate planning practices.

Working closely with clients, Amy develops tailored estate plans, assists with understanding and implementing the terms of estate planning documents, and provides guidance for family members whose loved ones have died with no estate plan in place.
