Pediatric Care
Primary Care
Prior to your procedure, we will send several medications to your pharmacy. You must begin to use all eye drops one day prior to your procedure, as well as, an oral antibiotic and Vitamin C beginning one week prior. You may take all other medications as directed by your primary care physician.
Electrocardiogram
You will then be asked to be seated in an easy chair. A nurse will ask you a few questions and check your blood pressure, pulse and temperature. An Anesthesiologist will discuss your medical information and will begin an intravenous line. He or she will then assist you into the operating room. After you’re comfortable, a blood pressure cuff will be placed on your arm, you will be given oxygen and you will be connected to an electrocardiogram monitor. A nurse will rinse around your eye with antiseptic solution and you will receive anesthetic eye drops. Sterile drapes will be placed over you, leaving only your eye exposed.

Dr. Dredge’s research interests include the diagnosis and management of glaucoma. He has published papers on the subject of glaucoma and external diseases of the eye. He is committed to utilizing the most recent methods and technology in the medical and surgical treatment of his patients in a compassionate and ethical manner.
Ophthalmology
Dr. Yoon is a highly respected, fellowship-trained specialist in Oculoplastics Surgery with over ten years of clinical experience in the Los Angeles area. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Johns Hopkins University and completed medical school at the University of Virginia School of Medicine with academic distinction. He completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Tufts-New England Eye Center in Boston, and his fellowship in Oculofacial, Plastic, and Orbital Surgery at the University of California, Irvine. He has published over twenty papers and textbook chapters in the field of oculoplastics and participates in post-graduate teaching at the Gavin Herbert Eye Institute, U.C. Irvine Medical Center.
Macular Degeneration
There is a wealth of information available about Ophthalmology, including information regarding the effects of diabetes on the eye, the effects of vitamins and smoking on macular degeneration, how to use eye drops for protecting the eyes, dry eye syndrome, new treatments for macular degeneration and for retinal detachment.
Laser Eye Surgery
Dr. Kandavel is widely published in the field of ophthalmic surgery. With millions of LASIK surgeries now performed worldwide, Dr. Kandavel published one of the first papers discussing the calculation of intraocular powers after LASIK surgery. This paper has now been used to direct further research on the subject and has been cited by other leaders in the field.
Cataracts
Dr. Yoon has traveled on ophthalmic medical missions in Nakhon Phanom and Sakon Nakhon in northeastern Thailand. Partnering with Khon Kaen University, Dr. Yoon was able to participate in a high-volume mobile cataract camp serving patients in the poorest region of Thailand. Working with an amazing group of people in caring for an underserved population was an extraordinary experience for Dr. Yoon.

Eyelid Surgery
Dr. Yoon has spent time in Seoul, South Korea as an International Fellow in ophthalmic plastic surgery at Samsung Medical Center, Korea University, and the Myoung Eye Plastic Surgery Clinic, focusing on Asian eyelid surgery and aesthetics. He also spent time there gaining mastery in endoscopic tear duct surgeries.
