EOMC’s primary care providers and specialists work together to deliver medical care that reduces pain and maximizes function.
Family Practice
A graduate of Thomas Jefferson University (1985), Dr. Gest is board certified in Family Practice (AAMS) and Emergency Medicine (AAPS). After completing thirteen years of Emergency Medicine practice and management, he now dedicates his full time focus to Occupational Medicine. He is a valued advisor and sought after speaker in Occupational Medicine injury prevention and treatment. Dr. Gest is a pioneer in the field of Telemedicine and an active member in the American Telemedicine Association. He is also active in utilization review and is the Owner/Medical Director of Physicians’ Utilization Review Medical Group.

For urgent care, payment at the point of service is required. An itemized receipt is provided to you that may be submitted your insurance company.
Immunizations
EOMC provides occupational medical, general medical, laboratory, radiology and case management services. Our capabilities include pre-employment physicals, drug and alcohol screening, hearing conservation programs, vision testing, pulmonary function testing, qualitative and quantitative respirator fit testing, electrocardiograph and exercise stress testing, vaccinations, and phlebotomy. We have established programs in monitoring blood borne pathogens, hearing loss, hazardous materials, asbestosis, and animal allergens. Additional services include OSHA training, ergonomic evaluations, return to work evaluations and telemedicine.

EOMC emphasizes preventing injuries through pre-placement physicals and functional capacity testing, medical surveillance, ergonomic evaluations and education. When injuries occur, EOMC and its affiliated providers in orthopedic surgery, hand surgery, physiatry, physical and occupational therapy, chiropractic and acupuncture, treat with a caring attitude and a strong emphasis on safe return-to-work. EOMC views itself as a medical partner, working closely with employers and their employees to ensure strong communication and coordination during the recovery process.

Emeryville Public Market was chosen and construction started. Much to everyone’s surprise – even before the sheet rock was up – patients started arriving at our door and Dr. Gest was seeing the first patients. Reflecting the founders’ belief that care was more efficient if it occurred in a single place, under one philosophy of care: physical therapy, occupational therapy, orthopedic and hand surgery consultations were incorporated into the service offering.
