CrossFit Acadia

Crossfit is a fitness concept that demands. both deep personal introspection and giving a part of yourself to the "community". This community consists of the people who you share blood, sweat and tears with during regular workouts. One of my measures of a box ( ie the crossfit gym) is how visitors are treated.



Crossfit Acadia's co-owner Ursula welcomed me to their surprisingly full 5:15AM WOD ( another crossfit term, meaning 'workout of the day' ) and had the whole class introduce themselves.



The WOD was well-executed and coached by Ursula and she paid extra attention to those who started letting sloppy form creep in. As sweat poured from my body I soon forgot most of my partners names but the CFA crossfitters all remained motivated and treated a visitor like one of their own.



Co-owner Nick even verbalized what I sensed: that while this facility is of course legally owned by two people it is actually an evolving work of art shaped by the diverse athletes who inhabit it. Very cool to have affiliate owners so dedicated to their clients and friends.
