What Causes Neck Pain? Most neck pain can be attributed to overuse injuries, accidents and diseases like rheumatoid arthritis. For many people, neck pain is a temporary condition. Others need medical diagnosis and treatment to relieve chronic symptoms.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Hand and wrist pain is most often caused by trauma (e.g. a fall that results in a fracture) or overuse. Common injuries include carpal tunnel syndrome and arthritis.

Ultrasound
After a physical assessment determines BFR is the appropriate treatment for you, a cuff will be fitted to the natural contour of your affected limb. Low-intensity resistance exercises will be performed while the limb is hypoxic. Swelling is normal, as the cuff prevents blood from leaving the limb. A Doppler ultrasound can be used to determine blood flow to the limb for safe application and monitoring.
Radiation Therapy
Lymphedema most often occurs in the treatment of any cancer (commonly breast) which involves surgery for lymph node removal and/or radiation therapy. Other causes of lymphedema are trauma, infection, immobility and chronic venous insufficiencies. There is also a primary form of lymphedema, in which there is a developmental abnormality of the lymph system.

Most patients are referred to Integrated Rehabilitation Services by their physician and are given a prescription for physical therapy to rehabilitate an injury. Patients who are not referred for physical therapy from a physician may contact us directly to schedule an evaluation or injury assessment.
