Pediatric Care
Adult & pediatric rheumatology) graduated from University of Maryland Medical School in 1986 and completed his Residency/Fellowship at Geisinger Medical Center in Pennsylvania. He has been board certified in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Adult Rheumatology, and Pediatric Rheumatology and has recently recertified in Pediatric Rheumatology. In addition to 30 years working for this practice, Dr. George had been the head of the Pediatric Rheumatology at University of Maryland from 1996 through 2013. He provides pediatric rheumatology consulting for inpatients at Sinai hospital. Dr George has been repeatedly voted a Top Doctor in the Baltimore magazine.
Primary Care
If necessary, we may also perform anesthetized removal of joint fluid (arthrocentesis) for fluid analysis and microscopic examination including crystal analysis. We also interpret bone density (DEXA) testing in light of comorbidities and medications and can send a detailed osteoporosis report including recommendations to your primary care physician.
Emergency Care
If you are currently suffering from an acute respiratory illness with coughing and/or fever, please reschedule your appointment for a time when you are recovered. Please consider contacting your PCP or going to an urgent care clinic or the emergency room depending on the severity of your acute illness.

Rheumatology is a medical specialty dealing with the diagnosis and management of over 100 diseases that can affect the joints and connective tissues. These are often autoimmune and inflammatory in origin but can also be genetic or from infectious diseases.
Immunizations
If you are unable to be vaccinated, are on medications that interfere with the response to vaccination or are known to have failed to make antibodies to the vaccine, speak to your rheumatologist to see if you are a candidate for the Evusheld immunotherapy shots.

Adult rheumatology) graduated from University of Maryland School of Medicine. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. Dr Lang was Professor of Medicine in UMMS Department of Rheumatology for 7 years where he was the Chief of the Arthritis Clinic, Baltimore VA Medical Center and Director of Clinical Education at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He joined this practice in 2005. Dr. Lang is participating in several clinical research trials providing access to cutting edge therapies if deemed appropriate for our patients

Ultrasound
The doctors have been trained in the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound. This is an imaging method that does not use X-rays and allows your specialist to visualize the inflamed joints, tendons and bone structures. Ultrasonography allows the physician to direct a needle into a joint, bursa, or other fluid collection in order to remove fluid or provide a therapeutic injection.
