I am a huge fan of John Clymer. One of the reasons he flourished as an artist was that he left Ellensburg.
I would encourage the local artists to also do this since by leaving the area he was able to gain the recongnition that he would not have gained had he stayed. There is an old saying: "An expert is someone from out of town"
Alot of the work displayed in the Gallery are weak versions of what John Clymer has already achieved, and the Curator and Ddministration are apparently unable to go outside the box to include a wider range of imagery, The Museum has that tired feeling once you are a few feet out of the Clymer Display area. Ho Hum.
