General Info: El Papalote is a child development center that was established in 1989 as a mother's day out program by a grassroots group from the Junior League of El Paso and the United Way. Today, it offers a child care program that focuses on health care services for special-need children, as well as the development of their physical and mental potentials. The center is licensed by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services to provide residential services for up to 58 children. El Papalote is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. It also offers financial assistance and referral services. The center utilizes an intergenerational approach to child development in a culturally diverse environment. El Papalote is a part of the El Paso Rehabilitation Center, which provides early childhood intervention services.

Overall

Extraordinary care

If you need exceptional care for your child, look no further. I was so impressed! They helped my son with a disability start walking! They really invested time to encourage him and they were so loving. They also have a time for children to brush their teeth. My son had just turned 2 at the time but they instilled him a great love for brushing his teeth! He's three now and sincerely loves brushing his teeth. The volunteer grandmothers are outstanding and so caring. The teachers my son had in the 2 year old room were extraordinary! They had children with no, similar and more severe disabilities and they were all treated the same -just like 2 year olds. The only difference is those that needed help, like my guy, got it. The rate for care is unbelievably low considering all of the care, love and help you get. I honestly don't know of anyone who would've done better, not even my family or me.
