I hired him to install a 8 ft stockade fence, a vinyl entrance gate, and to replace a side door into my garage. For starters, the whole fence blew down at the first wind. He put the posts only about a foot deep into the ground (without cement) and used the cheapest possible stockade which has cracked and broken. He bought 1 section less and ran short during install, so, for that section, he removed old pickets and hammered on new pickets from the scaps. He installed a 'fence gate kit' rather then the decorative gate we had agreed upon. He used very visable 2X4's (about 6 of them which stick out like a saw thumb from the front of my house) and nailed them to my siding to mount the gate. He put a one way enrtry lock (again, not what we agreed upon) and hammered a nail into my siding with a string attached so you can exit form the inside. The vinyl gate is now splitting because everytime I open and close the gate, it scrapes against my blacktop. With regards to the door, he charged me $200.00 to install a new door. Instead of installing the frame and all, he took out the 3 pins, removed the old door and hung the new door. I could have done that myself. He left the new frame on the side side of my house out of sight until he left. The door that he bought (which I paid seperatly for) had 2 door knob holes. When I told him that I was not putting a bolt lock on that door, he told me I would need to go to Home Depot and buy a plate to cover the second hole. Shame on me for paying him and not examining his work before he left. He was so kind and seemed so trusting that I thought he would have done the right thing. I contacted him to let hem know that I was very unhappy with everythhing. He was so kind and told me he would call me early the following week to come and fix everything. I have left about 15 messages and have not heard back...this has been going on for about 2-3 months. I would absolutely not recommend his servies to anyone.
