Dead Animal Removal
Our Sacramento County raccoon trapping provides a valuable service to those facilities in Sacramento County where the process is closely regulated by both county and state. We offer the humane capture and removal services that are required for a variety of animals. We also offer the Sacramento County dead animal removal that is required when an animal is close to your residence or business and you don’t want to deal with the sight or smell.

Insects and Spiders

Fleas
The California Ground Squirrel (Spermophilus beecheyi) is brownish gray with a bushy tail. They weigh about 9 to 26 ounces and are approximately 14 to 20 inches in length. These Squirrels mate in spring and have one litter each year of 5 to 8 young which are usually born in May. They make many burrows with mounds in open areas of Napa, Sonoma, Marin, Solano, Sacramento, Yolo and other counties we service. Often these burrows are found in our customers backyards. The California Ground Squirrel is active during daylight hours and often hibernates from November through February. This Squirrel eats insects and small creatures but loves plant material such as bulbs, roots, leaves, flowers, fruits and berries. It often does damage to fruits, nuts and grains. Fleas on ground Squirrels can cause bubonic plague.
Ticks
This profession requires a highly skilled wildlife operator that is familiar with animal behavior. We must keep not only the animals safe from harm but also the customer. We are extremely thorough with our work and have the knowledge that allows us to do more than other companies. We have been in this business for many years and have pretty much seen it all. Prior to becoming nuisance wildlife operators we did animal damage repairs to air ducts for a local heating and air conditioning company. Many of the animals we deal with carry numerous diseases and are extemely dangerous. Dead animals carry as many as thirty different diseases. Many are covered with fleas and ticks.
Mites
The Department of Agriculture stated that approximately up to 65% of skunks tested positive for rabies in areas so this is a great concern to humans and domestic animals. Rabies is transmitted by a bite from an infected animal. Rabies can be fatal in both humans and animals without proper treatment. skunks also can carry canine distemper, canine hepatitis, leptospirosis, Qfever and other diseases. Skunks are often infested with fleas, mites and ticks which also carry and transmit disease.

Bats
We have years of experience at providing capture and removal services for opossums, skunk, bats, raccoon, snakes, rattlesnakes, feral cats and more. Whatever problem you are having in your area, we cover a wide range of locations.
Raccoons
This raccoon roundworm is common throughout most areas we service such as Marin county, Napa county, Sonoma county, Solano county, Sacramento county and Contra Costa county. Most raccoons carry this parasite in their intestinal tract and transmitted into the host’s feces. Young raccoons become infected by ingesting eggs that can be present in the contaminated areas of their nesting site. The eggs become infectious in about 3 to 4 weeks after they are shed by the raccoon. Adult worms measure 15 to 20 cm in length and 1 cm in width. Prevalence of infections can range to nearly 100% of all raccoons sampled depending on the area of your state.
Snakes
We service Sacramento, Yolo, Solano, Contra Costa, Napa, Sonoma, Marin and other counties. As so many snakes reside in these areas we service, we will address the snakes we deal with most often.
Wildlife
Animal Capture And Removal personnel are private nuisance wildlife control operators. We have been working in the nuisance wildlife control field for many years. In fact we are one of the oldest nuisance wildlife companies in the bay area. We are licensed with the State of California to trap nuisance animals.
Opossums
The opossum (Didelphis virginiana) found here in the San Francisco Bay Area weighs approximately 4 to 14 pounds. They have long fur that ranges from white to gray in color. Their ears and tails are hairless and they have pointed faces. Opossums have five claws on their forefeet and hindfeet. Opossums are a marsupial and carry their young in their pouch. After breeding, the gestation period is only 1 to 2 weeks. The young are born in an embryonic state, about the size of a dime. Mom has a lot of work ahead as her young number from 1 to 14 attaching themselves to her nipples for two months. Later the young will often ride on the back of their mother. Opossums can have 2 to 3 litters per year. The opossum is a nocturnal animal which means it is active at night and sleeps days. Their diet includes carrion, frogs, birds and other small creatures, worms, fruit and they love persimmons, apples and corn.

Birds

Rodents
Skunks are nocturnal which means they are active in the night. They feed on birds, eggs, rodents, insects and garbage. Breeding occurs in February through March each year and can also have some strong odors occurring during these times. The bad news is that I found that once a skunk has sprayed it now is attracting more skunks to this location to try to breed. The gestation period is approximately 62 to 66 days with a litter of 4 to 8 young. The young will often disperse late in the summer months. I have found over many years in the wildlife field that if you don’t take the time to trap all the skunks that those not trapped may return to breed again in the same site during the next season.
Mice
Try to keep your property rodent free. This is accomplished by doing what’s needed to keep the rodents away in the first place, which in turn helps to keep away the snakes that prey on them. It’s a good idea to keep grassy areas such as lawns and fields low to the ground. Remove lumber and wood piles completely or at least off the ground. Metal racks to hold firewood are often used for this purpose and can be purchased at hardware stores. Trash piles or fruit left about the ground will also attract rodents. Bird feeders around the home are great for birdwatchers but when the seed falls to the ground it will not only attract mice and rats, but also skunks. Installing ¼ inch hardware cloth around the lower part of fencing will also help to deter snakes. Snakes can often move through holes and cracks to reach your under floor spaces. They can also gain entry through holes in the foundation vent screens. Once under, they often slither to the interior of your home through vents or up around pipes to come out in areas such as under your dishwasher and other locations. Sticky traps used to catch mice and rats can also be used on snakes. They can become stuck to these traps as they move over them. Snakes can be removed from these sticky traps by the use of mineral oil.
Rats
As with most nuisance wildlife control companies, we are not licensed to do any live pest control work. We are allowed to remove any dead animal such as mice, rats and larger animals. Many pest control companies are not licensed to do wildlife control and usually refer these types of calls to us.
Squirrels
Squirrels are a common sight throughout California. The Western Gray Squirrel (Sciurus griseus) is seen quite often in wooded areas or in parks. They are a wonderful sight to behold, funny and charming. Squirrels in the San Francisco Bay Area range in length from 17 to 28 inches. They can weigh 12 to 38 ounces. The Gray Squirrel has gray fur with a white belly while the Fox Squirrel is much larger and has a rust colored belly. These Squirrels have one litter per year with 3 to 5 young born in March through June after a gestation period of 30 to 44 days.
