On 4-15-16 I purchased a Caterpillar 297c from Vander Haag’s KC MO. Was told it had 75% undercarriage ready to work. I saw that it needed axles. Vander Haag’s to the what the axles would cost off the price of the machine and said they used it 2 years and would be ready for work. So I bought it and took it to the Caterpillar shop to get the axles fixed. We'll it needs a new right side drive motor the old one was failing because no oil in it. The left side track frame is cracked through, the belly of the machine was filled with 12 inches of dirt throughout, left idler wheel has broken bolt, left bogie axle housing is missing the cover and the bolts are broke off in it. It has not been maintained or serviced. I talked to Vander Haag’s and the refuse to help their customer. When the repairs are finished I will have my Lawyer send them a letter and I hope Vander Haag’s does the right thing for their customers. Will keep this updated.
