Sol Store of Lingerie

No better than Victoria's Secret! This shop may have gorgeous lingerie and excellent customer service, BUT, if you want to be properly fitted for a bra or would like to have trust in what you are buying, look elsewhere! I have learned the painful way that SOL is more concerned about selling their products than ensuring their clients are correctly fitted.



After such great reviews, I came to SOL to be fitted for a bra after having lost 95 pounds. Obviously, my bre@sts have changed throughout the process, and I was looking for proper support so my bre@st skin could heal like the rest of my body. I had no frame of reference on where to start, in fact I was in a sports bra. My fitting consultant was very personable, and she made me comfortable. Without any measurements, she quickly deemed I was around a 36D. At first, I was very happy to see my gals up where they should be. I loved that their bras had great structure and the bands did all the work. Everything seemed to fit good, except for the fact that I had extra tissue spilling over the sides of the bras. My fitting consultant convinced me that we all have a little extra up there, and that the tissue spilling out was just "extra skin." I eventually left with 2 bras, and thanked them for the wonderful shopping experience.



WELL, as the day continued on, I was constantly having to re-adjust myself in the bra. I began feeling squeezed, the straps kept falling off despite adjustments, and the band would roll up when I sat down. After wearing it for 7 hours, I had to take it off because my back was in so much pain that the muscles had actually started to spasm!!! I had to apply ice for the remainder of the evening, and I was in horrible pain with limited range of motion the next day!!!



During the time in which I was icing my back, I had plenty of time to research signs of ill fitting bras as well as various ways to measure oneself. After a few hours of reading, not only was it obvious I was not wearing the correct size, but that I should be starting in the 34FF/G range(UK).



With that knowledge in mind, I headed over to Nordstrom Rack, picked up a lovely lace navy blue 34FF, and WOW!! I have never in my life worn a bra that felt like it was made for me. In fact, it barely feels like I am wearing anything at all! It does not budge when wearing it either. The band stays parallel to the ground and does almost all the work with no back fat. The straps do not dig into my shoulders nor do I have issues with them falling off. The gore is flat on my chest and stays there even when I lift my arms. The "extra skin" I had spilling out, in which the fitting consultant explained was normal, is actually displaced bre@st tissue that has been pushed back and up from wearing ill fitting bras. With the correct bra size, the cups actually hold all of my bre@st tissue, and even pushes the tissues that have been displaced, back towards the front and into the cups where it should be. Best part of all, I got the bra on clearance for $40. Needless to say, I will be demanding a full refund from SOL.
