Renewal Restoration Inc.

Renewal Restoration was contracted by my condo's HOA for restoration/dry out and repair for water damage caused by a neighbor's burst pipes. Their initial response was rapid, and they began the dry out within hours of the damage.



From that point on, there was nothing positive about working with this company. As a condo owner, the HOA's contractor does the "dry out" and then my homeowners insurance covered the repairs. However, condo insurance policies do not allow the homeowner's contractor to come do estimates until an estimate is done by the HOA's contractor. Renewal Restoration took 11 WEEKS to finalize their estimate (although the had the dry out equipment out of the home about 2 weeks after the damage occured). Nobody from Renewal Restoration ever contacted me to let me know they were done, and my key was left in a lock box outside my home (which I had to retrieve myself). Also, the estimate provided by Renewal Restoration had the INCORRECT DATE for the date the damage occurred!



When my homeowner's insurance contractor was finally allowed to come in, they completed their estimate within 72 hours and work was completed in 2 weeks.



I will NEVER recommend Renewal Restoration to anyone.

If I told my best friend about this place I would say to run away from Jacob Maupin. Renewal Restoration was hired by my condo's HOA and property management company, Community Management Specialists, Inc. We have endured endless lies about when the project at our unit will be complete. It has been over 45 days now and our condo is still a disaster zone. We have countless workers entering our unit, without supervision or notice. We are thoroughly disappointed with the performance, communication and effort Renewal Restoration has displayed. I do not and will not recommend this company to anyone. By the way, this program mandates that I rate the company with a star. I am only giving one star because I must. Otherwise, I would rate it in the negative number of stars. Also, the other dissatisfied customer's review is exactly what we have experienced: mouth full of chew, empty promises and no communication.

I am a Manager in a condominium that has over a 100 units. We used Renewal in the past, and they did well. Jason Ottsman was outstanding, however on this particular occasion we receive a project manager by the name of Jacob Maupin. This manager is never on time and residents have been most patient with his lack of professionalism. He hired outside contractors that he did not have a day to day relationship with so beers were drank, bathrooms were used, the wrong furniture was taken, the work wasn't monitored the way it should be by JACOB so a lot more time was involved in the restoration of these units. A lot of corners were cut and the confidence that I once had in this company mitigating a water catastrophe has diminished. I learned you should never have the same company that mitigates, restore. Why? Well it takes away the interest in the mitigation when they are going to repair as well. Example four guys watching one extract water. This causes more damage, which they will be repairing. When a project manager shows up with a baseball cap to the back a mouth full of chew you wonder how well this person is going to MANAGE but I did not judge but, my intuition served me correct, he SUCKS. One of the residents was out of town and he had to depend on JACOB solely and calls were not returned and the resident is so concerned about the condition of his place. You/insurance pay an arm and leg for a service that is by far great. I WILL NOT USE OR RECOMMEND this company again. Hopefully the owner picks more project managers like JASON OTTSMAN and less like JACOB MAUPIN!
