Main Moon Buffet

We have been going to The Main Moon for about fifteen years. This used to be the second best buffet in Miami area. (Best was Dubarry's in Plantation) Dubarry's closed down and unfortunately the Main Moon went way down in their food quality. They used to have Duck and other better quality items. They appear to make a batch of crab legs, put out a very few (which are immediately snapped up by the first person that gets to them) and then wait an hour or two to put out more. I have waited for two hours to see if they would bring any out on their own and they do not. If you ask, eventually they will bring out a few more but unless you are standing right there, those will disappear also. You then need to ask again or they will not bring out any more until someone asks again. When they do put some out, you can tell they were sitting in boiling water for hours as they are soggy and have no flavor. They are also dry at the same time (I know this sounds contradictory but crab legs actually have fat in them and the fat is cooked out when they are overcooked). My wife only comes for the crab legs while I used to like their fine assortment of specialty items, especially on the weekends. Now the food selection is repetitive and the preparation of the food varies, evidentially depending upon the cook. We keep saying we are not going to go back again but we usually end up going back about once or twice a year, hoping that they will return to their former glory. They used to be so excellent. We keep hoping they will get it back together as we have not been able to find another buffet as good as Dubarry's or Main Moon used to be.

This is one of the better chinese buffets in Miami. They always have lots of chicken varieties and beef. Seafood is limited. Sushi is poor. A good variety of vegetables. They recently went to prepacked ice-cream cups :( Price is good.

great food.excellent service. 15$ including taxes and tips. refil drinks and desert included. i really enjoyed it. the only bad thing is the worn out but clean tables, chairs and toilets.
