We ordered wings for Super Bowl Sunday to be picked up at 6:00. We called at 5:30 and asked if we could pick them up early and, with a chuckle, the person who answered the phone said no. He never mentioned that they were running behind. When we arrived, my husband was told that they were running 10-15 minutes behind. A little after 6:30, we still didn’t have our order but a waitress brought the charge slip to be signed. I said they should have discounted the order because of how late it was. She said she wasn’t in control of that but didn’t offer to ask a manager either. We also just wanted to get out of there because the game had already started and we were already going to miss 15 minutes of it driving home. Also, while we were sitting there, a woman came in at 6:30 to pick up her order for that time and was told they were running about 15 minutes behind. I told her we were still waiting for an order that was 30 minutes late. She asked for a refund and left.
It seemed to me that they should have offered some kind of compensation for our inconvenience. Either discount the order or at least offer something to drink while we waited. But they did nothing. They should have expected extra business today and brought in an extra person to help with the orders. Instead, they chose to let the people wait and go for the extra profit instead of paying for a little extra help.
