Max Fitness Express

I joined Max Fitness July of 2011. I was told that any time I could cancel my membership with $50. That was a lie! I am stuck in my contract until it ends...



I tried to cancel my membership about one year ago. I work full time, I go to school, and I have a toddler. I do not have time to go to the gym every day, I wish I did, but I don't. I had a terrible time trying to cancel my membership. The woman who works in the gyms, “Cancellation department," was so unbelievably rude to me, it made me never want to step foot inside one of their gyms ever again! (And I have not).



It will be one year come this October that I have not used Max fitness. I have continued to pay them $70 a month only to preserve my credit! (My husband also has a membership)

I wish that I never signed up with this awful company! Please take my advice and don't join. The person, who you sign up with, will tell you anything (ANYTHING) to get you to join.



One more thing, the child care room is so gross! My baby ended up getting ring worm from their facility. That was one of the main reason I stopped going there.

*My membership allows me to use any Max Fitness Location. Of course this didn't happen at the Airport Thruway location, as they do not offer childcare. That detail was disclosed after I signed my contract.



Over all, these gyms are out dated, overcrowded, poorly employed, and under managed. Save yourself the headache and don’t join this gym!!

The new management is horrible. She is rude and unproffesional. The gym is out dated and crowded most of the time. I have tolerated all of that until the new management came. I have had several friends have the same complaints and we have all decided the convience isn't worth dealing with the crap...I'm going back to working out on post and canceling my membership.
