If I could rate this business with 10 stars I would. A few weeks ago my dog "Prancer" lost his life after being hit by a car. My husband is a truck driver and was just going thru Columbus, MO overnight to get to Wyoming. He let our doggy out to use the bathroom at the truck stop when all the sudden hundreds of fireworks start going off at 9pm for no apparent reason...it scared our dog so bad and he took off running. Sadly, my husband found our little boy the next morning on the road about a mile away. We are from San Antonio and know no one in Missouri so we did not know what to do with our little boy. My husband moved Prancer to a wooded area and semi buried him and had to reluctantly leave Prancer to continue the delivery of his load that was still on the truck. He was so devastated and had PTSD.
The thought of leaving our little boy out there in the woods was absolutely killing us so I decided to look up Pet Cremation on Google and found Columbia Pet Hospital. Crying and devastated, I spoke with Chaunel at Columbia Pet Hospital and told her the situation and asked if they could go pick up Prancer. I gave her the coordinance of exactly where he was located and within the hour they found Prancer. This made us feel so much better, knowing our little boy would come home.
Dr. Karen and Chaunel went out of their way to comfort us and took great care of our little boy. They cremated him and shipped Prancer back to San Antonio for us with a beautiful framed paw print. I would like to thank them so much from the bottom of our hearts for being such loving and caring people that took the time to literally, go the extra mile. In our time of disbelief and grieving you all were there for us. God bless you.

DO NOT GO HERE. I am a student and do not have very much money. My cat is in heat and barely eats or drinks. She regularly is like this, and I fear for her life. I called the Animal Hospital and they were unwilling to even work with me on this. The procedure is $95, and I cannot afford this right now, if I paid for the procedure out of pocket, I would not be able to eat this month. My situation is that dire right now. I called them, talked to them for over half an hour, and they wouldn't work with me. The General Manager wouldn't even get on the phone to talk to me, I had to talk to 2 different underlings, and each of them told me the same thing: They don't receive private donations like the humane society and they are unable to work with me on this. I broke down into tears and was legitimately crying in my front yard taking to these people. They DO NOT CARE about animals, they only care about the money. I may have to take my cat to the humane society simply because I cannot afford to have her fixed right now, and in the time that I get the money, she may have died of starvation or dehydration simply because she will not eat. These people DO NOT CARE about animals. They only care about money. If I could give them a negative review, I would. If you care about your animals, and want to support a good business that cares about their customers and animals, go somewhere else. This isn't it.

Columbia Pet Hospital is the most wonderful place in the world for your pets if you want personal care, compassion, professionalism and experience. This pet hospital is run with a caring staff that give you a small town atmosphere where everyone is instantly family and they truly care about your pet and you. We received stem cell treatment for our kitties who were in kidney failure. We could not have been more pleased with the care they received or the compassion we received when we lost our beloved Spoozie, which was due to an infection and nothing related to the treatments he received here. They are affordable and believe in the cutting edge science of stemcell treatments. I can't say enough about the gift of life that they gave to our boys, that we otherwise would not have had. ToryBells is still thriving after 1 year. He regained his eyesite as a side effect of the stemcell treatment. He had been stage IV Chronic Renal Failure. Today, his blood tests are back in normal limits. If you need a top notch place for your beloved pets, go to Columbia Pet Hospital. We drove a 6 hour round trip for every visit. And, they are worth every minute!

Not a good place for grooming

When I first moved into Columbia, I didn't know where to go to groom my yorkshire terrier. I thought Columbia Pet Hospital would be good since it's close to my home, has boarding, and grooming all-in-one. When I brought my pet here I told them to specifically leave one inch of hair on my dog. I came back later to pick him up and left crying! They shaved him down to about a 1/4 inch of hair, didn't even touch the hair around his head, and he looked ridiculous! Don't bring your dog here to get groomed unless this is what you want.
