Mohs Surgery
A Mohs surgeon is uniquely trained as a cancer surgeon, pathologist, and reconstructive surgeon. The Mohs surgery process involves removing the thinnest visible layer of cancerous tissue, one at a time. After the layer is removed, the removed skin is analyzed in a lab to check for any remaining cancer cells. This process is repeated until no more cancerous areas are detected.

Plastic Surgeons

Botox
Botox is an injectable treatment used to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Botox works by blocking nerve impulses to the muscles of facial expression, allowing the muscles to relax and the skin to appear smooth. Results last anywhere from 3-6 months. Common treatment areas include the wrinkles across the forehead, around the eyes, between the eyebrows, and around the lips.
Plastic Surgery
Surgically, most cancers and inflamed or contagious skin growths can be removed or treated by us. There may be a few that require referral out to plastic surgery or Mohs Surgery for further treatment. We are excited to have our own Mohs surgeons, Dr. Ashley Sullivan and Dr. Julia Padgett.

Blue Light Therapy is known to work as a proactive and preventative option for patients at high risk of skin cancer due to actinic keratoses. It can help reduce precancers and assists in photorejuvenation.
Dermatology
Our physicians will work with you to determine which medical or surgical dermatology approach is best for you. Most dermatological conditions are treatable with medication and non-invasive procedures and therapies. Most surgical procedures can be performed in our outpatient office setting.
Acne Treatment

Psoriasis, eczema, acne and warts are just a few of the skin diseases we manage, while pre-cancers and skin cancers occupy a large portion of our procedures. Every year, skin disease diagnosis, treatment, and medications evolve and our dermatologists always stay up-to-date to deliver the best care possible.
Lesions
Blue Light Therapy, also known as photodynamic therapy, is a noninvasive phototherapy procedure used to treat conditions that reside on the skin or just under it. It is an alternative treatment used for skin diseases such as actinic keratoses (precancerous lesions), acne, acne scars, and sunspots. When treating actinic keratoses, Blue Light Therapy is used in conjunction with the Levulan Kerastick, a photosensitizing agent that reacts with the light to destroy cancerous cells.
Chemical Peels
A chemical peel is a common cosmetic treatment used to improve the appearance of the skin. A chemical solution is applied directly to the face and subsequently peeled off, resulting in a general tightening of the skin, giving it a smoother and younger look. Chemical peels can improve fine lines and small acne scars, among other things.
Skin Care
We are pleased to offer our patients specialized laser treatment services provided under the direct care of Dr. Carol Byrd at our Reynolds Crossing office. Dr. Byrd treats patients with a variety of skin care concerns and has over 30 years of experience in the medical field.
