Lisa Uriguen Armstrong founded Trademark Management in 1993 with the sole intent of administrating a cohesive enforcement group: the Coalition to Advance the Protection of Sports logos ( CAPS ). The members of CAPS: Collegiate Licensing Company ( CLC ) ; MLB ; NBA ; NFL ; and NHL had been communicating jointly since 1992 but needed expertise in coordinating and centralizing their enforcement efforts. The CAPS members were able to consolidate their resources and collectively enforce their marks due, in great part, to the similarity in licensing, production and target audiences. As a result, the CAPS program is one of the most successful joint enforcement programs in the intellectual property industry. The main objective for Trademark Management has always been to provide a cost effective and efficient enforcement strategy. The Trademark Management team takes great pride in its ability to evaluate each offense and determine which avenue of action is most appropriate. Throughout the years, Trademark Management has fine tuned its US criminal anti-counterfeiting program and as a result now boasts an unprecedented network of law enforcement and industry personnel. Along with CAPS, Trademark Management also conducts enforcement for a unique group of thirteen additional clients. The success of Trademark Management is due to the diligence and determination of its President, Lisa Uriguen Armstrong. Not only is Lisa well respected among the trademark enforcement community, she has received several accolades from law enforcement departments across the country. Currently, Lisa sits on the Board of Directors of the International Anti-Counterfeiting Coalition ( IACC ) and chairs the IACC Legislative Committee. Through the Legislative Committee, Lisa is the Private Sector Chair for the National Foundation for Women Legislator's ( NFWL ) Business and Economic Development Committee. Lisa is also an Executive Committee Member of the IACC Board and is Treasurer and Board Member of the Western Anti-Counterfeiting Coalition ( WACC ).
