Multistate Transmissions

I originally went here for a transmission problem and now they're my go-to auto repair place. I use them for all of my auto repairs, not just transmissions. I have 3 cars, (old, older, and oldest!) and they have done just about everything on all of them at one time or another. Multistate Clawson is reliable, prompt, competent, fair, and honest.

My transmission seemed to be having issues in lower gears. I took it to a local shop and was recommended to try Multistate in Clawson. I was told they'd be happy to check it out including driving the car and running a diagnostic since there may be a code that could shed some light, especially since the check engine light was illuminated. I received a call a few days later that they had inspected the car and my transmission required a "complete overhaul", which would cost close to $4,000. I got a second opinion and was told that the diagnostics indicated a small problem with the stabilitrack which would cost around $300. They made the fix and the car drives perfectly. This shop also looked at my transmission and did other tests, etc upon my request given my original assessment.



One of two things occurred, either the diagnostic was not performed as promised or they were purposefully deceitful to a seemingly unaware young woman. Either way, not a place I would return or recommend to anyone.

You can trust Multistate Transmission of Clawson, MI. I have four vehicles that the mechanics take care of and I am completely satisfied. If anything goes wrong under the warranty that the shop gives the issue is fixed at no charge. From the office manager, the owner, the mechanic each is friendly and willing to assist in anyway. I will be moving in a couple of years and even though my new place is some 35 miles farther away, I will still bring my vehicles to Multistate Transmission of Clawson, MI. because I trust their honesty and knowledge of repairs.

My husband is a fleet mechanic for a major carpet cleaning company and says that Cal at Multi-State Transmisson is a good guy. He's been taking all of his transmission projects there for over 2 years now.



I recently (Nov. '10) recommended Cal to a friend via Facebook to take their car to Cal instead of the THEIVES at Allied Transmission who ROBBED me when i needed a new clutch on my truck back in '04. Allied estimated $1000+ to fix their trans (wouldn't go into 4th gear) and then took it to Cal for his estimate. Cal ID'd the problem as a bad left wheel bearing and fixed it for $300.



I have been ripped off by mechanics (like the guys at Allied) all my life, and I am thankful there are still honest mechanics out there, glad I married one because I'll never get ripped off again. Cal's our trans guy. PS. My husband said Cal does full-service. Jenny in Troy
