Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
A Nerve Conduction Study is a non-invasive, painless test to measure how well individual nerves send an electrical signal from the spinal cord to the muscles. A shock emitting electrode is placed over the nerve and a recording electrode placed over the muscles supplied by that nerve. The shock-emitting electrode sends brief, repeated electrical pulses to the nerve and the recording electrode records the reaction time of the muscle. NCS is often used to diagnose nerve disorders, such as carpal tunnel syndrome.

SOS has two traditional closed MRI machines, the GE 1.5T HIGH FIELD MR, which is a high field system in a comfortable design. This patient friendly scanner has a shorter magnet flared at the ends for greater openness and easy patient access.

Nuclear medicine is a medical specialty involving the application of radioactive substances in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Procedures are noninvasive and, with the exception of intravenous injections, are usually painless medical tests that help physicians diagnose and evaluate medical conditions. Nuclear medicine can be viewed as "radiology done inside out'' because it records radiation emitting from within the body rather than radiation that is generated by external sources like X-rays.
