About Good Samaritan Hospice (Good Sam for short) has been serving the Roanoke and New River valleys since 1992. As the only community-based, not-for-profit hospice, Good Sam provides hospice and grief support to patients, families, and the community regardless of their ability to pay. With an interdisciplinary team of caregiving professionals, including the area's only full-time medical director as well as trained volunteers, Good Sam offers quality patient care, family support, community education, and counseling services. Good Sam understands that hospice is really about life. When you choose Good Sam, you are choosing to live with the best possible quality of life for whatever time is left.
