A.R.C.H.I.E. Custom Woodworking

Mark is a real artist, his Ideas are amazing for any situation in home improvement, and he is the most trust worthy person you'll ever meet. His wife and 6 children are a testimony to his outstanding character.

I found this guy through the yellowpages and I sincerely regret ever calling him and for hiring him to NOT complete a kitchen remodel!! He really sold us when he visited our home, was very outgoing and even complimented my dad on the quality of his woodworking! He really schmoozed with us. We told him that we would like to have the work done by a certain date and he agreed and even commented on how convenient the date was. When it came time for him to quote us a price, he then gave us the slogan of 'today only...'. He said that if we gave him half the money, he would give us a generous discount. We agreed to give him 1/2 the money in a couple days. Once we gave him half the money and after 3 weeks of not hearing from him, we called him and then he promised that he would call us with the details. Needless to say this went on for almost 2 months. He became very distant, would promise to call us with a start date and then would have his wife call us to promise another date that Mark would call us. Mark's wife called us to let us know that they were on schedule and planned on getting it done on time. Unfortunately for us, we never got this in writing. She again promised that Mark would call us with the exact dates. Every time he failed to call us on the promised date, we would leave a follow up voicemail on their 800 number as well as his cell. Ironically, when we were shopping for services, they always answered their phone... Finally, I got in contact with him and by this time was very tired of chasing him down, he started out by tellling me of his fabulous plans but leaving out dates. Mind you, I finally got in contact with him 5 days before the project was supposed to be completed. When he mentioned that he hadn't even ordered the cabinet doors yet, I interrupted him. He accused me of getting upset with him and spoke over me several times. He got very rude and defensive and used phrases like 'get it through your head' and ' I am the greatest woodworker in the world'. At this point I knew that whatever line he gave me, it would not be the truth and that is when I realized that we may have lost all our money. I asked him for our money back and he said 'no'. He said that the project is too far on its way(funny thing is that he forgot he told me the doors hadn't even been ordered yet).



Anyway, long story short...We have had to seek legal counsel and have our attorney deal with this guy and his so-called company. Even if he does agree to complete the project that he promised, we do not trust him!



I do not recommend calling this company if you are looking for a kitchen remodel!
